Get ready to experience history in the making! The iconic Lake Redding Regatta is making a comeback on August 25, 2024. Relive the excitement of this legendary race on the Sacramento River, first held from 1933 to 1939.
This two-mile race is perfect for Standup Paddlers and Kayakers. Afterward stick around for live music, food provided by Evergreen Coffee and Odell's BBQ for an additional cost when you register, and the award ceremony for the top three finishers in each category. Please choose the category and age division you want to participate in. Include your email address when you register. The email address will be how we send participants the itinerary and additional information.
The following are the categories and age group divisions within the categories:
Standup Paddleboard (SUP); Age 16-45
SUP; Age 46-69
SUP; Age 70 and older
Recreational Kayaks are 15' and under and include sit on top kayaks.
Recreational Kayak; Age 16-45
Recreational Kayak; Age 46-69
Recreational Kayak; Age 70 and older
Performance Kayaks are kayaks 16' and longer including surfskis.
Performance Kayak; Age 16-45
Performance Kayak; Age 46-69

SUPs will start first with recreational and performance kayaking categories following after previous categories have completed the course.
Two clinics will be available for those who have never paddled at Lake Redding facilitated by Headwaters Adventure Kayak Instructor, Tiffney Ottoboni. The clinics will be held one to two weeks before the event. You are highly encouraged to attend the clinics. On the day of the Regatta there is a mandatory safety briefing that all are required to attend at the pavilion. Time will be announced in the emails to the participants. Registration will close August 21, 2024.
Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices, (life jackets) must be worn while on the water. If you have questions regarding what a Coast Guard-approved life jacket is please call Headwaters Adventure Company at (530) 223-2411 and the staff will be happy to answer your question. There will be no alcohol at this event.
